Belly- Elysee Montmatre, Paris France 3/9/95 Audio Only DAT Clone xfer Live Tanya Donnelly

Here’s another Belly show from a beautiful venue in Paris. Man, it must be such a thrill to tour and play places like this, especially for the first time.
This is a transfer off a clone, of a clone, of the master. There were 2 shows on the tape and one had some issues with static (somewhat common with old DATs) but this one seemed to play fine. Good set, nice sound.

Audio Live Concert

Pavement- Transbordeur, Lyon France 3/16/94 xfer from WMD3 Cassette Master-DAT Stephen Malkmus

Busy day, so a late On This Day in History. When I look for content to post, I check around to see if a concert is on youtube, if a setlist exists, is it on archive or old trade lists, etc. This one seems to be NOWHERE. I hate to use the “uncirculated” tag, but this one sure didn’t seem to get out much.

Audio Live Concert

Dinosaur Jr.- Espace Ornaro, Paris France 9/24/91 Live FM Soundboard Audio xfer f/ 1st gen cassette

Man, what a stressful day. Here comes a week or so of audio for you. First off, this one just happened to be on the end of one of the KROQ Almost Acoustic Xmas DATs, so I went ahead and ran it. The quality isn’t perfectly clean, but it doesn’t appear to be circulated or on youtube. The way that the hosts talk incessantly over everything, this sounds like a Black Session.
I borrowed this 1st gen tape from Kevin Haynes and copied it to DAT in 1995.

Audio Live Concert Live Performance

Venom- Maison Des Sports, Clemont Ferrand, France 10/31/85 xfer f/ unknown gen cassette Black Metal

Here’s one that is not from Doug, Eggplant, or KALX. I can’t remember the last time I posted something outside of those sources.
This one comes from Venom’s #1 fan, Joseph Reinsbach. He asked that I post this one, as it is a rare one. I did my best to fix this one up, but the levels were totally brickwalled. One day, I will get the source cassettes and it will sound slightly better. Slightly, haha. 2 venom posts in 1 week! Last time that will happen in a while.

Audio Live Concert

Tank- Salle des Fetes du Grand Parc, Bordeaux France 11/23/84 xfer f/master audio cassette Algy Ward

I decided on this one for today’s On This Date in history. The 3 bands I really wish I could have seen were Iron Maiden (w/Dianno), Riot (w/Speranza lineup), and Tank. I don’t think that any of these incarnations made it to northern california. I had heard that Algy’s health was failing a bit with hearing issues and all, but I was ready to go ANYWHERE to see them. Then he passed a couple years back, so I’ll never see him. Not going to see fake Tank or fake Riot, sorry.
This is a mediocre audience tape from when they opened for metallica for a run of dates in 1984. What a show that would have been- Metallica on the Ride the Lightning tour and Tank on the Honour and Blood tour. Damn, wish I could have been there.

Got this in trade, right off the master recording
