Radolescents- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 1/9/19 Live Multicam Adolescents

For the uninitiated, The Radolescents are Rikk Agnew(original Adolescents guitarist/songwriter), Casey Royer(Original Adolescents Drummer), Frank Agnew Jr on vocals (who sounds more like Blue Album Tony than Tony does now), John O’donovan on 2nd guitar & Freddie Hajj on Bass.
The lighting was super uneven- I decided to brighten the angles even though it made John glow like a guitar playing ghost. Casey also has a cymbal over his face. Oh well, I still like it and the board tape sounds good. Thanks AJ.
Thanks also to Gabi & Ben for bringing them to town.

Zero Effect- Blue Lamp, Sacramento 12/1/18 Canon HFG40 Live Double Nickel

Zero Effect (fka Double Nickel) features Davie(Dave Wiseman) from Santa Rosa punk band Ashtray- they opened for The Faction & Boneshavers on Saturday night. I think Davey mentioned that this may have been their first show. I missed the first song because I was screwing around and talking to friends. Sorry about that.

The Boneshavers- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 12/1/18 Live Canon HFG40

Also opening the Faction show was The Boneshavers. They played with the Faction back in the 1980s(the flyer and backdrop for the show came from a 1980s concert flyer featuring both bands), and seem to be playing occasional shows now.
They describe themselves a Psychobilly, and their album was produced by Ray Stevens.

The Faction- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 12/1/18 5 camera Multicam w/Soundboard Audio N-Men

This one turned out nicer than most Blue Lamp videos. They put a bright/spotlight on the floor by the monitors and it really helped lighten up things. It caused some other challenges, but we worked around them. Thanks to the mystery guy for fixing the gopro by Adam when it got knocked around. MVP right there.

EyeHateGod- Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 11/16/18 Multicam Video

Man, this one sounds amazing! Nice work by AJ at the mixing board.
So the lighting was challenging (lights on crowd & center of stage, not so much on sides of stage) but it was way better than the Cro-Mags lighting. I had to brighten that stage right angle, that’s why it loos a bit like surveillance camera footage. Think of it as a cool video effect.
My favorite remark of the night came from Mike: “we played here 5 times this year… and still no one knows who we are!”

Cro-Mags: Blue Lamp, Sacramento Ca. 11/16/18 Multicam with enhanced soundboard audio

Here’s one that we never did because the lighting was such a challenge that night. The band only wanted a super bright red light on JJ and not much else. We were able to enhance the super dark gopro angles, and Zoran Theorodovic let us use his angle, and it turned out pretty good in the end. The grainy gopro angles mix pretty well with our cameras. Thanks Zoran!

Crimson Eye- Blue Lamp, Sacramento 10/20/18 Multicam

I first saw Crimson Eye in 2014. They opened for The Skull at The Metro in Oakland- I had never heard them before. They were one of a few opening bands, and they made me stop and think “these guys are damned good”. Little did I know that they were from Sacramento!

I have been trying to catch the band ever since, I even saw them for about 30 seconds during one of those Super Bowl Sunday parties at the Blue Lamp (I had kids and mother in law in car). So I was happy to finally catch them in what turned out to be their last club show ever.
