I know I just posted the raw (camera audio) version of this 5 days ago, but this sounds way better in my opinion. Those DPA mics worked great on this stage and the coors light stage. The sound from the VIP section at the main stage was sketchy.
Here’s what I wrote last week about the show:
So on Thursday at work, I double-checked the app to see what time I needed to get there for Death Angel and lo and behold, Destroy Boys were added as a last-second replacement for some metal band I didn’t care about. I left early and got there close to their set time- it takes a while to drive to sleep train arena, park and shuttle over to Discovery Park. After getting the audio setup all plugged in, I heard them start.
Man, I was shocked at the band’s growth. The last show that I had seen of theirs was 4 and a half years ago at the Blue Lamp. So much more stage presence and confidence, it was so cool. This was the most fun set of the weekend for me. I smiled the entire time.
One other thing- the auto setting was overexposing badly, so I flipped it over to manual about 3 minutes into the set. It gets better is what I am trying to say.
