Wow, the planets aligned and you get TWO posts in a row from Arica Pelino’s collection. Yesterday was the misguided Bazooka Joe audio post, but we definitely know who the band is for today’s post. Where and when it happened? Well, that’s a good question.
I used the list (thanks Steve and Jon Luini) to search for any dates that the band played in the area. They had a total of 3 shows here- one at Gilman in 1999, and two in 1998 at venues I was not familiar with- La Val’s Pizza in berkeley and Circa Here in Oakland. It’s obviouslky not Gilman and after looking at photos of the La Val’s venue, this doesn’t seem to be the same place. So I am guessing that this was at Circa Here. If anyone can confirm, please let me know.
The band was from boston and members are not clearly mentioned online, but Billy Brown, also played in Crash and Burn, Ashers and Deadly Sins (among others) and had just released a solo album. He passed from Cancer last year.
One last thing- the band asked that the lights be shut off so this one was SUPER dark. I did my best to enhance it, but it is still pretty low lighting.
