Here is one that I forgot that I taped, for today’s On This Date in History. It’s funny- Mike Desertt (who I did not know at the time) was there and videotaped the show. He posted it a few years back and I commented “I wonder why I missed this show”. Well, I didn’t miss the show. Now you all know why I keep this website- it’s how I remember past shenanigans.
I think I know why I didn’t remember the tape. The mix was not great- almost all vocals, which is not a knock on the sound person that night. Old I is tiny so you typically get an uneven board mix.
This is a really great, unique set. A mix of old favorites and deep cuts that were rarely played. I was able to fix it quite a bit with izotope, with a LOT of tweaking to the original. It’s listenable after about 5 minutes, and then is really good for the end of the set.
