Since the intro to the Sac Music Archive called out The Cattle Club, it seemed like a good idea to pull another Cattle tape from the archive for today’s On This Date in History. That’s right, there are more Cattle tapes that are not posted yet.

This one is an audience recording that I made with the huge beast of a deck- Marantz PMD430 and either 1 or 2 nakamichi CM300 mics. It was one of the better analog live taping rigs available at the time, but I ditched it for a DAT recorder a month later.

The band doesn’t start until about 2 minutes in- I left Dennis’ banter in and Jerry’s intro. I have no idea what the low end rumble is about at the start but it goes away after I adjust levels when the band plays. How is Dennis doing nowadays? Have not heard from him in a long time.

Not bad for a Cattle audience tape
