Camper Van Beethoven- Calamity Jayne’s, Las Vegas Nv 7/27/88 xfer from 3rd gen soundboard rebalanced

Here’s a request from Carl Sylvester- this was a legendary show amongst music fans in LV.. and I can see why. It looks like they were playing this tiny club that had cool shows in the late 80s. CVB played for over 85 minutes, which is unusual for that era.
The board tape was heavy on drums and vocals, so I tried to boost up the bass and guitar/keyboard. Unfortunately, Izotope stuck the keyboard and guitar together into one “channel”, so I had to crank the keyboard to get some guitar in the mix. Still, not bad and a killer show.

Dark Angel- That’s Entertainment Las Vegas Nv 1/25/86 Xfer from VHS Tape Enhanced Thrash Metal

Last week, on my way home from Long Beach, we swung by Todd Nakamine’s house and picked up a few bins full of VHS tapes. What a treasure trove of stuff this is! Here is the first of many from Todd’s collection- a full set from Dark Angel back in 1986. This video is on YT but not in this quality. Xferred from an unknown (but relatively low) gen VHS tape. Thanks Todd!
