Chumbawamba- Opera House, Toronto Canada 10/20/97 xfer from DAT FM Clone Complete Show

This was supposed to be a collections post, but I had already digitized this one before we “discovered” the Green Day video posted earlier. So, 2 On This Date in History posts today.

This one is for my Sacramento friends- one of the leaders from this band, Danbert Nobacon, is playing the Cafe Colonial along with a STACKED lineup next month! If you only know this band from that one hit, you need to dig deeper. What a story. All that Tubthumping money helped to finance their anarchist collective (and causes) for years. Never lost sight of who they were. So great.

Chumbawamba- Barricades, Seattle Wa. 9/21/90 xfer from uknown gen soundboard tape anarcho-punk

Ah, what a day so far. It appears that hackers have accessed my facebook account and I cannot get it back (bots don’t waste your time with your automated comments). So, I get to start over on my personal facebook account… if they let me. So, if you see a new friend request come through on facebook, it’s really me. Merry Christmas!
A minor inconvenience like losing my FB account won’t stop me.. Anyway, it’s Wayne V’s turn for a post today. I will always love this band- an anarcho punk band that infiltrated the “big music business” to spread their message, encourage people to steal their album (I am sure EMI loved that) and then use the money made to fund their anarcho-punk ideals. Well done!
Even though I had never heard of this tape existing, it does appear to be a well circulated. The tape has a good amount of hiss in the quiet parts. If you want a clean tape, check out the Gilman 9/15/90 show- that one is stellar. Happy to have found this one though.

Audio Live Concert

Chumbawamba- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 9/15/90 xfer from 8mm master

This was a special show- Chumbawamba making their first west coast appearance, with Neurosis opening(I thnk, if I remember correctly) and Eve Libertine/Son in the first slot. We have 1 other angle of this show and a THIRD angle was just discovered. Also “Anonymous” taped the show through the soundboard and it sounds nice. Maybe someone will edit it together one day! 🙂

Live Concert Video

Chumbawamba- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 9/15/90 Multicam with soundboard audio xfers f/ Master enhance

Here is one that I have been trying to get done for YEARS. I have had 2 video sources (my master and one shot from the soundbooth) plus a master soundboard for many years. We recently found a stage angle and we thought that we had a way to get the full show from that angle, but it appears to be gone… so what we have here is:
3 camera multicam for the first 5ish minutes
2 camera multicam for the next 40 minutes.
Just my angle and the soundboard audio for the last 5-10min.

Dealing with these analog audio & video sources makes it a nightmare to synch, so I wanted to thank King Bean for the soundboard to my video synch, and Liam Dennis for the multicam edit from there. What a team!
