The Dickies- Berkeley Square, Berkeley Ca 4/30/89 xfer from master tape Enhanced Live partial show

Hi Everyone,
I could use your help on this one. I had recently bought the Sony ECM-909 microphone for my Aiwa CV-80 camera and filmed the Dickies. I FORGOT to turn on the mic for the first half of the show, so this is only the part of the show with audio. If anyone has audio of the complete set from this show, please let me know as I can synch it up with the (currently) silent video. Thanks!

Dickies- Berkeley Square, Berkeley Ca. 4/30/89 mastertape xfer enhanced COMPLETE SHOW improved audio

Man, I owe Kingbean, Chris Dodge and Daniel Hague a huge debt of gratitude. I filmed this show over 30 years ago and forgot to plug my microphone in for the first half of the set. I have had silent footage this entire time. When I posted half the set and put out a call for any audio of the show- Daniel Hague came through. He had a tape of this show from Chris Dodge’s collection- I think Chris might have taped it himself- which not only made the show complete, but improved the audio of the second half! Wow!!
After working up the audio, it was off to Kingbean for the synch. This one was a huge pain in the ass for him, since most synchs are keyed upon the snare hit and I rarely showed the drummer. He did a great job. Thank you.

Throwing Muses- Berkeley Square, Berkeley Ca. 3/28/89 xfer from master audiotape

Here’s an upload for a friend of Corbett’s- John Kelly.
So let me talk about the taper- Anonymous. He is my best friend and we have been friends for over 30 years. We met at the legendary exploited/DRI/Dr. Know/Dag Nasty show. Back in the 80s, he was not only working to get the best quality audio recordings (he bought his Sony D6 first, then I HAD to have one), but he went to a lot of really cool shows that I blew off. This is one of them. Looking at his tapes, I see recordings by The Lemonheads(I didn’t go), Swans(Went), and more from Berkeley Square. Thanks to anonymous!

Operation Ivy- Berkeley Square, Berkeley Ca 12/19/88 xfer f/1st gen VHS tape complete show Rancid

Here’s an On This Date in History that some folks might like… I traded 2 tapes with a guy who came up to me at Gilman and asked if I traded video. 2 trades and that was it. I didn’t really know his full name, I think his first name was Mike.

Anyway, he is the one who provided the 2nd angle of Op Ivy’s last show that allowed for a 2 camera edit. His camera was also much better in low light, which helped a lot at Gilman.

This might have been the last time the band played berk square. They were opening for 7 Seconds here. Audio is distorted but picture is clear.

Minutemen- Berkeley Square, Berkeley Ca 9/21/85 Cassette Master Soundboard-DAT Partial D Boon Watt

Sooo. It’s a bit late. This has been the busiest day in memory. At least it’s still the 21st in Hawaii!
I have 2 versions of this one. This incomplete one and a complete version. The DAT with the complete version is not lost, it’s just not where it is supposed to be at this time. This is why I tell my “tell me what to do” folks to list alternates.
Anyway, the mix was pretty light on bass. In fact, it was light on everything but drums. I did my best to fix it up in Izotope.
Odd that this one is not out on youtube yet.
