Here’s an On This Date in History that some folks might like… I traded 2 tapes with a guy who came up to me at Gilman and asked if I traded video. 2 trades and that was it. I didn’t really know his full name, I think his first name was Mike.

Anyway, he is the one who provided the 2nd angle of Op Ivy’s last show that allowed for a 2 camera edit. His camera was also much better in low light, which helped a lot at Gilman.

This might have been the last time the band played berk square. They were opening for 7 Seconds here. Audio is distorted but picture is clear.

Recorded by: Mike?
Transfer by: Shayne stacy
Equipment used: JVC HR-S9911U VCR and Canopus ADVC300 firewire into Dell workstation

  1. Yo, I shot this video and that second angle at Op Ivy’s last show. I’m pretty sure I shot the Danceteria Op Ivy video where Jesse asks “why punk rock happens in discos?”. If you want to credit me, my name is David L. My punk rock name is Loudawg. Thanks. I dig all the Archive. Those RKL demos are so sick.
Surprised that I came up to you and asked about trading… I was a pretty shy 15 year old from the suburbs. Always intimidated by the more urban punks.
