Today is the day, folks! It is time for Danny Reynoso’s annual F@ck Cancer series of events that benefit the American Cancer Society. The number of shows has been slimmed down from past years from 4-5 to 2, but the second one happening this weekend has about 20 bands playing in one night. Way to work smarter, not harder Danny! First show happens tonight at the Cafe Colonial and that’s where I’ll be.
This is a video of Chonker (formerly the O’mulligans) from last year’s F Cancer benefit run. I decided to go to this show because I lived right across the street on Tupelo drive for a stretch, and that is where I cared for my mom there before she passed from cancer in 2006. It seemed fitting to go. This fenced area used to be where I would take my kids to play a crazy mashup version of soccer and racquetball. It was wild walking out there are going “wait….”.
Also, this shows that I am a year behind on posting master videos. This is part of the reason why you don’t see me at shows much anymore. The backlog, no more room on my storage RAID, and the move/divorce were all big factors. Get ready to be annoyed again because I am back.
Thanks to David Lindsay for his support of the archive.
