Alright, I need to tell you up front that this video is not great. After Priest’s set ended, there was just an endless sea of people at the main stage for Maiden. We did the best we could and weaved our way through people to get to the center structure where the mixing board is. Standing on that barrier base gives me about 2 or 3 inches (keep your jokes to yourselves) and I can lean on the barrier to stabilize myself… but I was WAY back there and there were a TON of hands and phones in the air. So, this generally sucks but it sounds good. Sorry, I did my best.
General consensus among the aftershock fb group and my fb friends was that this set was self-indulgent and boring. I understand that they were on “The Future Past” world tour, which “includes fan favorites as well as songs from Iron Maiden’s 2021 album Senjutsu and 1986’s Somewhere in Time.” Save those specialty sets for your hardcore fans- people who bought a ticket to see Iron Maiden at a headlining set featuring only Iron Maiden. If you are playing a fest, pull out a greatest hits set and make the people happy. Oh well, I am not in charge of Iron Maiden Inc., they can do whatever they want to their brand.
