Last month, Sean Hills came out of promoting retirement/hiatus to put on the most crowded show the Cafe has seen in a while. The show sold out, but the amount of friends who were there was crazy. I think I introduced at least 20 scene friends to my wife- literally everywhere I turned, there was someone who I had not seen in months or years. What a blast!
The show was a benefit for Palestine and it was incredibly successful- I heard that more than $5k was raised. When, given the Cafe’s capacity, meant that people went above and beyond to give even more than the door price to support the cause. What a night.
I had been trying to get out and see Dollar Store ever since they announced their first show in March(?). They were even better than the short phone videos I had seen of them. Glad that it sounds really good in the cafe that night, because there was not attempting a multitrack witht eh amount of people in there.
I was going to add something here about donating to the local nonprofit who helped run this show, but Sean hasn’t gotten back to me. Ask him I guess.
