Natural Selection- The Colony, Sacramento Ca. 10/10/19 Live Hardcore Canon HFG40 Rode

I headed to The Colony last Thursday after getting shut out from taping the C.O.C. show. The multicam of Rotting Out will be coming soon. In the meantime, here are the opening bands.
I thought that Natural Selection was a new band, but I see that Lee Osh was raving about their demo 2 years ago! They were really good, especially for the opening band of the night. Good one!

Plead the Fifth- The Colony, Sacramento Ca. 10/10/19 Live HFG40 Sacramento Hardcore

Another “fun” day at work, hence the late post. I really liked Plead the Fifth when I saw them open for Madball years ago. They didn’t seem to have the same energy level this time. They sounded good though. That stage was MOVING big time for Rotting Out, so maybe these 5 big guys were just being gentle to the stage. Haha.

Rotting Out- The Colony, Sacramento 10/10/19 Live Multicam with matrix audio

Here is my first even attempt at doing a multicam at the colony. it turned out pretty good! That stage was moving, big time- check the gopro angles. Crazy!
Also, there was no room around the drummer for the usual gopro angle, so I tried to wedge it in one of the pallets nailed to the wall.. that didn’t work so well, so I held the gopro stand with my other hand.

The Polyorchids- Green River Tap Room, Winters Ca 10/4/19 Live UHD 4k

We made a last minute decision to bring the entire family to The Polyorchids show last Friday, which was great! But when the kids are around I attempt to multitask and the video camerawork is usually pretty lousy. That’s the case here. Not only that, but I forgot that I had the camera on photo mode so I recorded the 1st 25min in the wrong 4k mode, then I tried fixing it and recorded the next 15min in the wrong mode and in 1080p. Finally, the last 25min of this video is at the right settings. Incomplete because my 4 year old was cold and tired.
This is the 4k footage only. The middle of the set in 1080p is coming on a separate upload.
When I do this bad of a job with filming, I usually bury the video (never post) but they were so good and they did a great selection of covers that it must be posted, if only for the audio track.

Tony Passarell Quartet- 6 Song Studio Session, Sacramento Ca oct 2019 xfer f/Tony’s CDR Free Jazz

Collections post first today.
I was driving my son to school today and thinking about stuff, and I started thinking about Tony’s collection. It felt like it has been a long time since I posted anything. I came back to the studio and sure enough, my excel sort didn’t work it has been almost 2 months since I posted last!

The photo is all I know about this recording. It seems to be a studio session, but either unreleased or limited release since Shazam or the Youtube algorithm can’t ID it. The date might be October 19 of an unknown year instead of Oct 2019. If anyone has more info about this session, please let me know. I’ll update the info.
