It’s another late On This Date in History. I pulled this one as soon as I saw it on the list because I had remembered that Gary Louris did a duet with Roseane Cash on Seven Year Ache and it was one of the greatest things I had ever heard…
Well, that was from a different session. Golden Smog played Vin Sclesa’s Idiot’s delight twice. This session took place after the Roseanne Cash one, and it is not as good. I mean, the DAT quality is great but the sound in the studio was lacking (too reverby). Vin tries to rescue the show by attempting another duet, and the GS guys just bail. Some might think that is pulling a rock star move, I like to think of it as getting out when the time is right. Still a fun listen. Includes commercials and stuff.
