This show was not only one of my favorite Cattle Club shows, but a pivotal one for me. I was a casual fan of Barbara Manning’s music, but this early incarnation of SF Seals really got me hooked. I love Melanie Clarin’s harmonies with Barbara- just excellent! We all became friends and I even booked Barbara’s 2 month long 2001 U.S. tour. Huge amounts of respect for booking agents- that’s not an easy job!
Unfortunately, this mix isn’t great. When I use Izotope rx7 to rebalance a recording, it usually lets me re-do the vocal, bass, drums and guitar. Well, instead of guitar, Izotope only allowed a rebalance of the cello. So the guitar is buried and the cello is prominent in the mix. Still a great set and funny between song banter.
