Here’s another one I taped for On This Date in History. Continuing on the Rosebuds post from a few days ago- I think the PMD430 was new to me, so I was out taping as many shows as I could with the new setup. Toad the Wet Sprocket was playing a free show at UC Davis as part of the Take Back the Night event, so a bunch of us friends went together- John Conley, I think Mike Yoas was there, Jason Ellis..

According to Davis Wiki: Take Back the Night is an annual event that aims to support survivors of sexual violence, raise awareness, and promote action within our community to end sexual and gender-based violence. This event is held to create a supportive space for survivors and allies in the community.

What’s really cool is that the band stops playing and you can hear people marching and chanting. I can’t remember where on the tape it is, but I remember it pretty well when I was there and you can hear it on the tape.

Someone from internet archive uploaded this as an unknown source, and lists the gear as the PMD430 and a Sony ECM-909 mic, which is probably correct. That means that the Rosebuds show was probably done with the Sony mic and not the Nak. I shoulda taken better notes, man (in my Tommy Chong voice).
