I was surprised to see that this is not up on youtube… at least I couldn’t find it. When I filmed Uncle Tupelo’s last show ever at Mississippi Nights, I met a nice couple (Tom and Mary I think?). They are relatives of Mike Heidorn and they asked for my contact info. I ended up sending them a VHS copy of the last show, since Mike played during the encore… and I thought that was the end of it. Then, out of nowhere, they sent me this box of old UT articles and stuff… and in the box was this VHS tape of the Primatives playing on St. Louis Cable- KDHX.
The Primatives(that is really how they spelled it) were Jeff/Jay/Mike, with Jay’s brother Wade Farrar on lead vocals. They do a lot of early/garage rock type covers, but the first one is an original and fans may recognize it.
Oh, this is probably a 1st gen VHS tape transfer. I think they recorded it off cable.
