Sleep- W.O.W. Hall, Eugene OR 2/18/94 xfer from master videotape enhanced Matt Pike WOW

Here’s a short one for you today, but it is pretty damn awesome. Here is a 7 minute clip that Craig Babb filmed of Sleep opening for Hawkwind back in 1994. This one was super dark so I brightened and fixed up the exposure before denoising. It sounds pretty good as well! Thanks Craig!

fIREHOSE- Wow Hall, Eugene OR 5/30/93 xfer from DAT Soundboard Clone Mike Watt

On This Date in History, finally! The mix on this one wasn’t great, and the mix changes throughout the show. I rebalanced it to sound good for the majority of the set, which is at the end of the show. The early part of the set is still listenable, but a little guitar heavy with no snare.
Cuts at the end. I am not sure if that was just my copy or if the source cuts at that point.

Jesus Lizard- WOW Hall, Eugene OR 11/9/92 xfer from master video tape enhanced

When I started to prep this one, I realized I made a mistake while transferring it. Some of these old tapes are dirty, or the tape sheds and dirties up the heads while it plays. I needed to clean heads constantly to get some tapes to transfer. I thought I got a clean transfer of this one, but it craps out at about 17 minutes- sorry about that. The video wasn’t much longer than this anyway, and it looks like there is another version of this show (amazingly) up on the internet as well.
If you ever wanted to see what a slow descent into dirty-headedness looks like, fast forward to 16min.
