John Fogerty- Walden Woods Benefit, Universal Amphitheater LA 4/1/92 DAT Aud Creedence Clearwater

In my opinion, there were 2 really nice things about living in L.A.– The food (I gained 30lbs while living there!) and the concerts. Living in Whittier, I was able to hit shows in San Diego, San Juan Capistrano, Hollywood, Santa Monica or L.A.– all within 2 hours drive. On the downside, the job, the culture, and the traffic sucked badly.
One of the nice concert perks were special shows like these- this was a benefit for Walden Woods which featured Fogerty (doing Creedence songs, which was a big rarity at the time), Roger Waters doing Pink Floyd material, and Neil Young doing stuff from Harvest Moon prior to its release, along with his more popular songs. Glenn Frey played too, but that’s when I went to the concession stand.

Neil Young- The Concert for Walden Woods Universal Amphitheater L.A. 4/1/92 DAT Master solo acoustic

This was a tough one to prep. Neil was not pushing much volume and the crowd was going insane because he was playing new songs and the hits. Compression won’t even help.. so I dropped the levels whenever the crowd cheers loud and Neil is not playing. There are still some obnoxious crowd parts, but it makes it a little more listenable at least.
