Nag Nag Nag- Omni, Oakland Ca 12/18/89 transfer f/low gen VHS tape Hard Sleaze Rock Hair

We are nearing the end of Laura Martinez’ VHS collection. Very sad. This last tape has a couple of bands that she did not personally film, but the quality is really good. 1st or 2nd gen tape if I had to guess.

The tape was labeled as the Face It! Magazine party, but the 2 bands on this tape actually played together about a week after that party so I am going with that date instead.

Nag Nag Nag was a hard/sleaze rock band from Bay area, California, USA, that was active in the late 80s and early 90s.

Sister Strange- Omni, Oakland Ca 12/9/89 Transfer from Low gen VHS tape Hard Rock Glam

Is it me, or does it seem like all of these glam posts from Laura Martinez’ collection always hit on the weekends? I guess it’s because it’s party time! Wooo. Clearly my exhaustion is getting to me over here.
There doesn’t seem to be much about this Sister Strange band online. There is a swedish band and an all-female band out of Los Angeles by that name, but no bay area band. If you know anything about them, you know what to do

San Francisco X-Men: Omni, Oakland Ca 12/9/89 transfer from low gen VHS tape

This is the last video from Laura Martinez’ collection. Sorry glam and hair metal fans, this is it.
The SF X-Men released 2 demos in 1990 and that seems to be it. Not much info online but I found a facebook thread that has the following: Danni, Sean, Woody, Jim, G-man…RIP Jim Lang.

Mad Anthony- Omni, Oakland Ca 4/28/89 Transfer from VHS tape San Francisco Hard Rock Glam Hair Metal

More Glam from Laura Martinez’ collection today. This one was at the end of those 2 Flame videos on her VHS tape, but it was copied from someone else. This might be a 1st gen VHS but it does have some noticeable gen loss, so ? gen it is.

According to Discogs, “Mad Anthony is hard rock/glam metal band from San Francisco, California, USA, that was formed in 1984.”, but the address on their only demo (which goes for a ton of money) shows that at least 1 member based in Antioch.

Looks like this could be an Omni house camera thing. Did they have that? I can’t remember.

Anthrax- The Omni, Oakland Ca 7/2/87 xfer from 1st gen audio cassette Thrash Metal

This one comes from Gary Shurtleff’s collection of audio tapes. He did not tape it, but is confident that this is a 1st gen. It’s an average audience recording for the time. I was able to EQ to sound a bit better.
It’s a typical setlist from the 1987 tour. Unfortunately, the “Livin’ After Midnight” cover cuts off right before the lead break.
