The Offspring- Aftershock Festival, Discovery Park, Sacramento Ca 10/9/21 4K UHD Live w/DPA Audio

I wasn’t planning on recording the Offspring’s set, but I was scouting out the best place to do the Misfits set so I ended up getting about 15min while I was testing the shot. This was shot from the VIP Section, facing the Kolas stage. On the map, they make it look like there is this big, close viewing area for VIP’ers. In reality, there is a 12′ wide barrier that we could view from, and it was super far away. Glad I moved out of VIP, closer to the stage before the Misfits set.

The Offspring- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 9/19/93 xfer from 1st gen audio cassette incomplete

OK, trying to get back to some semblance of order after all of the aftershock posts. I still can’t comprehend how I did/filmed 4 days of it back in 2021. ONE more aftershock post and that’s it for ’24.
Anyway, let’s pick up Dal Basi’s weekly posts from his tape collection today. I spent too much time searching for any documentation of this show, but there is none online. Setlist.fm has a placeholder for the date with no setlist, so we can safely assume that it’s not out there/online. Dal got it from his friend who taped shows back then, and this was filler on that Moist(posted)/D.I.(not posted yet) from Berkeley Square.
Enough rambling, on to the recording. This sounds shockingly good, compared with the Moist set. Gilman is not a great sounding room, so kudos to Radley or Marshall, or whoever mixed the show that night. Unfortunately, it cuts at 22 minutes. Hopefully we can track down Dal’s friend and see if he still has the master tapes.
I could not find any flyers or photos of the show, so I used an LA times photo from UC Irvine Crawford Hall from around the same era.
