Sparklehorse- GLR Session, England 7/22/98 xfer from band archive tape

Wow, news is Ozzy Osbourne passed away today. His determination and focus during that last show was amazing to see. I have one uncirculated Schoeps recording that I am waiting on the OK to put out. You might get ozzy today, or you might not.
Here is a few sad songs that seem appropriate for today’s On This Date in History. From Jonathan Segel’s tapes that he loaned me about 25 years ago. Thanks Jonathan!

Sparklehorse- Boulder Theater, Boulder Co 12/1/96 xfer f/DAT Clone

Let’s start the day with the bonus post. Thanks to Scott Bradley for telling me what to do! I think this was when Jonathan was in Sparklehorse so an additional bonus for you CVB fans.
Unfortunately, the recording was super muddy and bassy. When you would use early stealth mics (such as Sonic Studios or Coresounds) in big theaters or arenas, you would often times get something like this. I think that’s why people started upgrading to Schoeps in the 90s.
