Walrus- Demo Tape 1993? Smokin Rhythm Prawns California xfer from Master Cassette David Immergluck

Man, these guys are really good. After Smokin’ Rhythm Prawns ended, Andy Liotta got together with Christian Riley and Joaquin Spengeman to for Walrus. It looks like they put out an LP in 1997ish time frame.
This demo kicks ass- you should listen to it.

Smokin’ Rhythm Prawns- Cattle Club, Sacramento Ca. 12/7/89 Part 1

Smokin’ Rhythm Prawns were an alternative funk-metal (think Primus/FNM etc) band from the bay area. They were around a few years and released 1 CD. They opened for fIREHOSE at Cattle so I shot video. The infamous Cattle lighting was good that night! I don’t see any other live footage of them online, even though they had a decent following back then.

Smokin Rhythm Prawns- Demo #2 6/89 Audio Only xfer from Original Demo Tape Funk Metal

When I was digging for that Venom tape last week, this was in the same tray. Colorful demos really jump out at you when you are fishing through a sea of XLII 90’s.
This band was not very well known, but they seemed to have a loyal following to this day. I bought this at the show where I videotaped them, and the video is one of the only ones up on YT. I don’t see this demo up yet, either. R.I.P. Matt Margolin(Guitar), and Garth Petal(Drums). Andy Liotta is the only surviving member of the band.
