Sebadoh- Sacramento Memorial Auditorium 12/11/96 KWOD Chistmas DAT Master Soundboard Rebalanced

This one has a story. Brian McKenna promoted this show and I had snuck my DAT deck into the venue. I ask him if we could get Sebadoh’s permission to tape since I had taped them back at Cattle in 1992. We get backstage and Lou Barlow says “oh, YOU are the guy who taped that Cattle Club show? I saw that for sale in Cambridge as a bootleg”. I had to explain that I was not an international bootlegging criminal and that some asshole that I traded with must be selling it. He still gave permission, thanks Lou! And see? This one never got bootlegged.
I had total impostor syndrome, taping through the board at this show. This was the place where I saw my first rock show (Iron Maiden/Scorpions 1982) so it was pretty surreal.
This Sebadoh set is WAY better than the one that we saw at Cattle. That one was painful. They do my all time favorite Sebadoh song, Willing to Wait.

Sebadoh- KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic, Santa Monica Ca. 10/7/94 xfer from DAT clone of master

Here’s another great recording from Kevin Haynes’ unsurfaced collection of recordings. He was a good friend back then- he and Todd Nakamine were my closest friends during my 3 years in Whittier. I hope he is doing well.
I was planning on posting a multicamera video but we found an issue with it so we had to scrap and re-do. I just happened to find this on my hard drive- I digitized it 2 years ago. Lou has some great one-liners in here. Full band in studio.

Sebadoh- Cattle Club, Sacramento 5/19/92 xfer from DAT Master Rebalanced Lou Barlow

Last year, Brian asked if I could post these shows on 5/19 and I told him that I would get them ready for this year. I then transferred the DAT months ago, but I am terrible about these anniversary date shows, so it was on the spindle awaiting prep. I saw that he posted the poster on the anniversary date- YESTERDAY, so it lit a fire under me to finally get these done.
There is a funny story behind this one- I traded the raw mix of this tape back in the early 90s to a few people, and somehow it ended up for sale at a record show and Barlow saw it. The next time I asked to record Sebadoh (at Memorial Auditorium) he gave me a hard time about it. I apologized, but I told him I had nothing to do with it, other than taping the show. Gotta love them bootleggers.
