Scherzo opened the Friday night show at Gilman. They put out a 7″ on Lookout in 1990 and a full-length in 1994. Solid band.

This one is definitely the last one from Rodney Parker’s collection. Thanks Rodney for letting me digitize his tapes- that was a fun project!
Scherzo was a band from the east Bay and put out an LP and 7″ on Lookout in the early 90s. I think they are playing a house party here.

We still have a few more videos from Rodney Parker’s collection that have not posted yet. Here is one of them, playing their High School! How cool is that? Scherzo released an LP and a 7″ on Lookout Records in 1991, and that was about it. Jon Bower (Guitar/vocals) has been active since the 90s, releasing stuff from a bunch of bands.
Rodney is out having fun in Europe, so hopefully he sees this eventually.

Upscale to 1080 in Adobe Premiere Elements- no enhancements needed
Need to make this one a bit quick today. This is another one from Rodney’s (Bay Area Punk Shows) collection- he loaned me his tapes to do the lossless transfer and enhancement. This is already on his great youtube channel, but this is a higher res, cleaned-up version. The funny thing is that we found another Scherzo show after this one on the tape that is not on his channel. So, stay tuned for a new to youtube Scherzo show in the coming weeks. I love finding unexpected stuff on tapes. I have a good Wattie story in that vein- ask me about it if you see me sometime.

What a day. I had planned to go to one of the TWENTY shows in town, but everything went wrong and I ended up waiting for my daughter to finish her saxophone lesson until 8pm, then eat dinner. I hope you all got out tonight.
Here is one from Rodney Parker’s collection, and this one is kinda special.
When I digitized this tape, I checked on Rodney’s youtube channel for info and saw that this had never been posted by him. It was taped after another Scherzo show and kinda forgotten about. So, world premiere! Woo!
