Loves Me Hates You- San Francisco State University 4/5/90 xfer from 1st gen soundboard cassette

This is another one from Scott Davey’s collection. He ran Iguana Studios and was in some San francisco-based punk/new wave bands in the late 70s/early 80s. Here is the band he performed with in the 90s. He has a lot of demos and rehearsals from LMHY, so expect those in the future.

When I saw this tape, the lettering looked awfully familiar- it looked exactly like the tapes that radley Hirsch would make for us when he would dub Gilman board tapes for us… and sure enough, I opened the J-card and it had Radley’s writing- recorded and copy made by Radley. Small world.

Nice mix- it really evens out after a few minutes.

Abbie Hoffman- San Francisco State University Gym 4/28/82 f/ master/low gen soundboard tape

This one is not technically music, but I am posting anyway because Mr. Hoffman had close ties to the 1960’s music scene- MC5 and Woodstock fest among others. It also seems to be a rare one. This is from Scott Davey’s collection and it might be his master board tape. I don’t hear any station ID’s and he usually notes when something is taped off the radio. Regardless, it is a pretty cool piece of history.

It cuts at 95 min.
