Pivot- Rough Mix Sessions for Oscillator 7″ xfer from DAT master tape Sacramento Punk Unreleased 1993

I hope everyone had a happy 4th! We had a great time. Evel sustained no injuries, even though he ate it pretty badly on the landing there.
Today we have Pivot with a rough mix of the Oscillator 7″, PLUS an unreleased track that was supposed to be used for a snowboard video project that was never released.

Redrum- Power Corrupts LP Rough Mix w/different vocals xfer from master tape January 1989

There’s kind of a long story behind this one, and this is only my memory of it..
After the first day of recording the LP, we ran off a cassette of the rough mix to listen to. Vonni (was it only Vonni?) thought that the vocals were too clean, and wanted them re-recorded. I thought they sounded great, they sound exactly like how Carlos sang back then. So back in the studio they went, to “dirty up” the vocals and release the CD that you might have heard. I think this version is FAR SUPERIOR. Too bad it is just a rough mix.
Side note- listen until the very end- there is a BONUS cover that Vonni sings. The guy who laughs when he starts singing is me.

Audio Live Concert

Slayer- Live Undead Rough Mix, Tiki Recording Studio, New York 1984 xfer from master audio cassette

Since all I have seen on my timeline for the past day is SLAYER REUNION, I figured I would join in the fun and post this one from TM Doug’s archives.
I think all Slayer fans know by now that this was not recorded during a live concert. They played live in a New York studio with about a dozen people in attendance, who won entry through a radio station contest.
This tape is definitely a rough mix of that session. It sounds like Doug popped a tape into the board without any mixing being done at all– sounds like a live soundboard tape. Cool to hear it like this!
