City Mouse- Character’s, Pomona Ca. 2/19/18 Multicam Canon HFG30

So I was in southern California for vacation at the same time as City Mouse’s tour. I was so excited! I was planning to go to 3 shows, then 2, and finally only made it to 1. They played right next to where I was staying in Long Beach and I missed it! Damn.
They played to a small crowd at this show in Pomona. Despite living in Whittier for a few years back in the 90s, I had never been to Pomona. It is way out there!
Thanks to the band for allowing me to film. One of the best bands going right now.

The Hammerbombs- Characters, Pomona Ca. 2/19/18 Canon HFG30 Rode VPS Mic

I was on vacation in southern cal last week, and I was lucky enough to catch a show with City Mouse & The Hammerbombs. I was one a 3 paying customers, I think, if you don’t count the guys playing pool. Thew venue was a HIKE into the middle of nowhere. Even though I lived in Whittier for 3+ years in the 90s, I don’t think I ever went to pomona.
Anyway, the band was very good and I picked up their CD at the show. Very nice folks and I have been wanting to catch them for a while. Sorry for the lighting- they were lit by those neon beer lights only.

The Business- Angelo’s Pizza, Pomona Ca 9/26/10 xfer f/DV Master Tape England Punk Oi

Here is one from Josh Parten’s collection that was super dark. I was really surprised that this worked out so nicely in Adobe Premiere Elements. Lighting adjustments brought the band right out of the darkness and the denoise worked like a charm. I wish Josh could see this- he would be stoked!

Audio is distorted and there isn’t much I can do about it.

Jeff Ott- House Show, Pomona Ca. Spring 2000 xfer from VHS-C Master Enhanced Fifteen 15 Crimpshrine

Man, am I glad to finally get this one posted. This tape was the hardest tape I have ever transferred. It took me unscrewing the screws in the tape’s shell, trying 4 VCRs, a VHSC camcorder(bought and returned 3 cables for this one), and 2 VHSC to VHS adapters. I will attach a pic of the pile of gear to my FB posts, so you can laugh along with(at?) me. Thank to Jordan Wolfe for unknowingly letting me borrow his battery-powered VHSC to VHS adapter- the one that actually worked.
Thanks to Donald Todd Reilly Jr. for trusting me with his tapes for longer than expected.

Love and Rockets- Glass House, Pomona Ca. 4/15/96 xfer from Hi8 Master Tape

Happy Labor Day! Here is another one from Steve Rogers’ master tape collection. His tape did not have a date, but this is most likely the correct date- they did not appear to play Glass House again during the time that Steve was filming.
