Pennywise- Punk in the Park, Cow Palace, Daly City Ca 5/3/25 4K UHD Multicamera w/Multitrack Schoeps

Man, this one turned out pretty good. By this time of the night, most of my camera batteries died. I didn’t have enough batteries for both G9ii’s, so you get one angle from me, but my friend Guerin Myall filmed some angles up close to the stage, so we were able to edit those in as well. Thanks Guerin!

I was also able to get the raw multitrack files for most of this set (thanks to Shawn Biggs) and mix them- shout out to Patrick Hills for making this multitrack mixing setup idiot proof- even I can do it! Finally, my schoeps sound like total dog shit but thankfully John Loughney was there with his mics and they sound way better.

As always, big thanks to my old friend ⁨@PunksNotDeadGR⁩ for the edit.
What a great team effort. Thanks everyone.

Pennywise- Aftershock Festival, Discovery Park, Sacramento 10/10/21 Live 4k UHD Punk Fletcher

Alright, back to the Aftershock videos. I made sure to get to the fest in time to see Pennywise. I even got my DPA microphone setup all wired and ready… and then I forgot to hit record. So, this and most of Mastodon’s set doesn’t have the better audio. Bummer. It doesn’t sound that bad, it just could have been way better.

Pennywise- San Francisco, Ca 10/16/99 xfer from 1st/low gen VHS tape pop punk

It’s Friday, time for a video. Along with Gary Shurtleff’s cassettes, I have hundreds of his VHS tapes here. A lot of them are already up on youtube at about the same quality, but this one doesn’t seem to be up there.
I don’t know who filmed this, but it looks like it is right off the master tape. It looks like a Gary camera job, but he didn’t master on VHS in 1999. Maybe it is Dan Nicholson’s, but I thought that Jesse Davis posted all his stuff. If anyone gives me info about the filmer, I’ll update the post. It’s a mystery to me at this point.
Nice camerawork and good sound. Gets better a minute or so in.

Pennywise- The Edge, Palo Alto 7/10/95 xfer from MiniDV Master Punk D.F.L. Joykiller Tour

Since I am going to be seeing my old friend Guerin Myall at Punk in the Park tomorrow, I figured that I would post one of his master tapes that had a tie to tomorrow’s show.

I find one of his many Pennywise tapes- this one is labeled “Pennywise 1994” and nothing else. That sets off a search through the between-song banter to try to figure out where it is from. They thank DFL at one point, and at another they mention it is a Monday night… ok… then toward the end of the show, they FINALLY say the location- Palo Alto. That sets off ANOTHER search to find when they played with DFL on a Monday in Palo Alto in 1994… nothing.

Thanks to newspapers dot com (thanks Dan), I finally figured it out. This is from the DFL/Joykiller/Pennywise tour in 1995. They played the edge on 7/10/95 which was a Monday.

There are over 100 tapes labeled like this. I don’t know if I have enough time and patience to figure all these out. haha.

OH. If you have read this far, here is a special bonus- I have 2 tickets and artist parking for tomorrow’s PITP show (thanks Shawn). Please ping me if you are interested in going with me. I can’t really drink since I am gluten sensitive.
