Pandoras- Burger Boogaloo, Mosswood Park, Oakland Ca. 7/4/15 Multicam

Great day, and great show by the Pandoras. They played the 2nd stage which did not have the same sight lines as the main stage. As a result, I could only use 2 cameras. I had to strap a camera to a light pole about 200 feet away from stage and I had the other about 100 feet back on a monopod. Despite the challenges, I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks to Kim for letting me video (and for the compliment on the shirt), to Linda Champagne for helping me get my tripods in, even though we had not seen each other in about 18 years, and to Burger Records for putting on such a cool festival. Thanks to Agelos for editing. Filmed with HFG10/Rode Video pro mic on a pole, and 1 HFG30 on a monopod.

Live Concert Video

The Pandoras- Spirit Club, San Diego Ca 7/9/88 xfer from 1st gen audio cassette Complete Show

Here is one for On This Date in History that I got from the guy who taped it- I traded with him in the early 90s and he had so much good stuff from the San Diego area. I got the Pleasure Barons video and a bunch of other stuff from him as well. I wish I remembered his name. He was friends with the Bernat brothers.
This is such a fun Pandoras era- I like the garagey “Stop pretending” era the most, but you get a mix of those songs and the newer hard rock songs. I think Kim and Melanie were in the band at this point.
I didn’t rate this one too well but the recording was clean so it EQ’d nicely!

Audio Live Concert

Musicalifornia- Local TV Show w/ The Pandoras, The Bangles, Raszebrae, Black Flag 1st gen VHS 1988

My friend Erik Flannigan generously gifted these files to me the other day, asking if they were good candidates for the sac music archive. I looked at the first episode and THE PANDORAS are on it! It was a total surprise.
Question for you Black Flag video completists– is the footage at about the 20:00 mark circulated anywhere? I tried to search “black flag casa blanca” on youtube and nothing came up. If it is uncirculated, what a find!

Live Concert Live Performance Video

The Pandoras- Adams Ave Theater, San Diego Ca 7/11/86 xfer from 2nd gen VHS tape Kim Shattuck Muffs

When I was digitizing all of Eddie and John’s VHS tapes, I had some space on the hard drive so I went and pulled a random, uncirculated VHS tape from the collection. This one isn’t great quality (and filmed WAY BACK THERE with some good zoom action), but given that it was filmed before camcorders were commonplace, I felt it was worthy of a post.

Features one of the greatest musicians/people ever, Kim Shattuck on bass.
