Operation Ivy- Dave’s Garage, Albany Ca 5/16/87 xfer from master VHS tape Enhanced First Show Ever

Let’s make it an all-Chris Eng weekend. He filmed the 3 shows I posted over a 5 week stretch in 1987. Crazy to think about how active the punk scene was back then.
This show has been posted to Youtube before, but this one is right off Chris’ master tape and I did what I could with the lighting effects to make the band a bit more visible. Can’t do much with that audio, however. Still enjoyable to anyone who is a fan of the band.
I also kept the clip of Dave hosting the show in there- the music starts at about 1min.

Operation Ivy- El Sobrante House Party 1987 xfer from master audio cassette w/photos from the show

Happy Monday before election day, everyone! I think that many people are suffering from pre-election stress, so here is a cool little distraction. Joel Wing (former Corrupted Morals bassist) posted a photo from this house party the other day, and I knew that Eggplant had recorded this show, as he had given me the tape to digitize. I asked Joel for the photos and he sent 3, so that sped up the process of getting this posted. Thanks Eggplant and Joel for this one! Joel, if you have any pics of Isocracy from this, I wouldn’t refuse those as well.
It’s only 4 minutes. That’s all there is. But it’s uncirculated Op Ivy from 87. I EQ’d this and tried to rebalance but all it did was boost distortion.
Head on over to the Sacramento Music Archive website to see the additional photos!

Maximum Rock N Roll Radio Show 1987 w/Short Operation Ivy Interview MRR

This is the last tape that I digitized for Gary Shurtleff this time around. It was “Robert Moody’s Thrash Thursdays”, but the first 30min of the tape was an MRR radio show. Not only that, but it cuts in with Operation Ivy in the studio, with Jesse & Lint introducing “here we go again”. I asked Gary about it, and he has no recollection about how that got on there. Gotta love happy accidents.
