Monsula- 1-2-3-4 Go Records, Oakland Ca. 12/27/16 Multicam 1234 Gilman Punk

I posted the 1 camera version of this back in December, right after the show. I don’t know if you have been to the 1234 Records concert room, but it is SUPER SMALL with no place to set up multiple cameras. I actually had all of my cameras in my backpack, but they had no place to go. So I stuck a gopro on top of an electrical outlet on stage. It was way too low of a shot and it cut some heads off, but it was the best I could do. We debated editing this, but there are no multicams of Monsula out there at all, so we went for it. Hope you like it! 2 cameras: Canon HFG30 with Rode VPS mic, and a gopro on stage.

Pandoras- Burger Boogaloo, Mosswood Park, Oakland Ca. 7/4/15 Multicam

Great day, and great show by the Pandoras. They played the 2nd stage which did not have the same sight lines as the main stage. As a result, I could only use 2 cameras. I had to strap a camera to a light pole about 200 feet away from stage and I had the other about 100 feet back on a monopod. Despite the challenges, I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks to Kim for letting me video (and for the compliment on the shirt), to Linda Champagne for helping me get my tripods in, even though we had not seen each other in about 18 years, and to Burger Records for putting on such a cool festival. Thanks to Agelos for editing. Filmed with HFG10/Rode Video pro mic on a pole, and 1 HFG30 on a monopod.

7 Seconds- Metro, Oakland Ca. 6/28/14 1080P HD Master Video Live

Me and my best friend “Anonymous” bought tickets to Total Devo(that early songs show) at The Fox… then this 7 Seconds show was announced. I thought I was screwed and would not make this show, but we took off for the 7 seconds show right when the Devo show finished, and walked in a couple minutes before 7 seconds started. I love it when stuff like that works out!
Any 7 Seconds show outside of Sacramento is bound to be a great one, since the crowd usually goes totally insane. That was the case here. My favorite part of the show is when a stagediver takes the mic for “Young til I die”… and HE WON’T GIVE THE MIC BACK. Thankfully, Kevin (nicely) wrestled it away from him before the Minor Threat part started.

Equipment used: Canon HFG10 and (I think) stock mic.

Stick to Your Guns, Counterparts, Hundredth, Terror- Mixtape Festival, Metro, Oakland 3/23/24 HD Mas

For today’s “On This Day in History”, I had planned to post just 1 band from this show that I video’d 11 years ago. When I pulled out the disc, all 4 bands were all crammed onto 1 big 21gb file on the disc, so you get them all.
This was a big 2-day hardcore festival, but I was only able to go to the Sunday show. I think these 4 were the only ones I video’d that day.
My favorite part was right when I started to video, a stagediver jumps off stage right in front of the “no stagediving” sign. Classic.

Crucifix (1984)- Continental Club, Oakland Ca. 2/22/14 Part 1 Multicam VIDEO

1984 is Sothira & Jimmy from the classic Crucifix lineup in the 80’s, along with guys from the hardcore band Side Effects filling out the lineup. This was their first show back and it was intense! The poor guys running the club never knew what hit them. In a club in west Oakland. Thanks for Dan Hashthrash for going with me to ensure I did not get killed, and to Agelos, Bong, and Yannis for all of ther editing & synch work. I think Bong did ALL the work on this one.

Equipment Used: Camera 1 (zooms/handheld): Canon HFG10. Camera 2 (stationary): Canon HFM30

Edited/Remixed By: Agelos Porf, Yannis, Bong.

This is part 1. You can find the rest on youtube by searching the same title.

Resist and Exist- Manic Relapse Fest, Continental Club, Oakland Ca. 2/22/14 Anarcho Peace Punk

I am digging up all of my old multicam footage from Manic Relapse and there were 2 bands who I shot with 1 camera only, but never posted. Here is the first- Resist and Exist. The funny thing is, I ended up seeing them open for 1984 again at the Observatory in Santa Ana in June of ’14… then never again.

Rotten Fux (?)- Manic Relapse Fest, Continental Club, Oakland Ca. 2/22/14

Here is a perfect video to describe my mood today, as I am having a rotten fux’ing work day.
At least I think that is the band here- they were listed on the flyer as the band in this slot. They don’t announce their name, they appear to be missing a band member and call for him while dawdling on stage, then play for 5 minutes.
Perfect.

Strung Up- Manic Relapse Fest, Contiental Club, Oakland Ca. 2/22/14 Multicam with DPA4061 Audio Punk

I’m late today- work has been unrelenting, plus kids are not schooling. So things are even busier than usual. In fact, my 5 year old is watching me type this!
Here is Strung Up’s set from Manic Relapse a few years back.

Diatribe- Manic Relapse Fest, Continental Club, Oakland Ca. 2/22/14 Multicam w/DPA Audio Punk 30year

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday today, and that you are happy and healthy. I debated posting anything today, but why break the streak now? Here is a set from Diatribe at Manic Relapse. It is a 30 year set- not sure if that meant a reunion or just a set with older tracks but here you go.
