Robyn Hitchcock- Ram’s Head Tavern, Annapolis Md. 6/13/98 Audio DAT Clone Soundboard Live

It’s Monday! I was going to post another aftershock video until I realized I screwed up and missed 1 part of the 10 step workflow and need to fix and re-upload, so you might get that tomorrow or Wednesday.
This one is more appropriate for a Monday anyway. I enjoy relaxing and listening to these Hitchcock shows and this one sounds great. Surprised that this one isn’t online somewhere already.

Blessed Death- Essex, Md 11/10/85 xfer f/audio cassette New Jersey Thrash Metal

This one is from Chris Eng’s audiocassette collection. Lineage is unknown- it has a slight bit of hiss but not too bad. It sounds like a boombox recording that was put on the ground of the venue- lots of full low end and not much in the mids/highs. I dehissed it, EQ’d it to bring up mids and highs, but vocals were still buried. I ran an izotope rebalance which makes the vocals more audible, but they kind of bounce around between barely audible and overpowering.
If anyone knows the year, let me know. I could not find anything on this show. Maybe Metal Mike P might have some info.

Slayer- Seagull Inn, Baltimore Md 3/16/85 xfer from master audio cassette Thrash Metal Kerry King

Wow, we made it a whopping 8 days without a Slayer post. This one comes from Baltimore, in the very non-Slayer sounding Seagull Inn. That makes me wonder- is this the most wimpy-named venue that Slayer ever played? I know that they were too big to play the Sit-n-Spin laundromat/music venue in the 90s. Chime in if you know of any evil bands playing silly venues. Venom at Unicorn Stables or some sh*t.
I would say that this is an average Doug recording- slight distortion, bass rumble since I had to push the EQ to get anything low in the mix, and slightly fuzzy separation of instruments. Still, Slayer at Seagull Inn!

Slayer- New Loft, Baltimore Md 11/9/84 xfer from master audio cassette Thrash Metal Kerry King

It’s Tour Manager Doug Tuesday! I know I promised a different week of content this week, but one thing will continue until we run out of stuff– TM Doug Tuesday.
Man, I love this flyer. It looks like a flyer to a party, and it looks a lot like a flyer that Christian Devine made for me when I had a party with bands, back in 1982 or 83, at my Dad’s house in Citrus Heights. We even got a keg! Man, times were different back then.
