Richard Thompson- KGSR,Austin Tx 2/24/94 Live in-studio interview and acoustic xfer DAT Master Clone

On this day in history- February 24.
I realize that I have been posting a lot of short “live in radio studio” things for the On This Day project, but this one is special. This is a very honest and intimate interview with RT (like, “did he really say that” honest) and a bunch of songs live in studio. It’s almost an hour and it’s great. Highly recommended.
Some of these songs might have appeared on KGSR’s “Broadcasts” series of CD’s released from the 90s until now… but not the whole thing. Really good for even casual fans.

Lucinda Williams- KGSR Live in Studio, Austin Tx 12/3/91 xfer f/low gen audio cassette

This one is from Tony Philputt’s tape collection, donated to the archive by Phil Go. This is an amazing performance. If current events are stressing you out, give this a listen.
I think this is a 1st gen cassette. The tape has 3 KGSR live in studio sessions and there is pretty much no tape hiss. Quite a range os music in Tony’s collection- from Half Life and the Gynecologists to this. lol.

Alejandro Escovedo- KGSR Live Acoustic in studio, Austin Tx 1990s xfer f/low gen audio cassette

This was at the end of Phil Go/Tony Philputt’s KGSR tape. Lucinda (posted 2wks ago), Loudon, and this. The other 2 are from 1991, but I am not sure of the time frame of this- 1991 would have been very early in Alejandro’s solo career.

Loudon Wainright III- KGSR Live in Studio, Austin Tx 1991 xfer f/low gen audio cassette Folk

Last one from this KGSR tape, from Tony Philputt’s collection (via Phil Go). This is the longest session on the taps, so if you are a Loudon fan, you are in for a treat! It still amuses me that The Gynecologists and this is in the same collection. Diverse!
