Janis Ian- Mountain Stage, Charleston WV 1/24/98 xfer from DAT Clone of FM Broadcast Live Complete

For today’s “On The Day” post, I pulled out an artist who I would enjoy with my mom. My mom also liked to rock- her favorote band before she passed was Aerosmith. Today would have been her 74th birthday. Happy birthday mom! I owe much of my exquisite(lol) music taste to her- she got me into all the cool 70s bands. I remember listening to the Raspberries on the radio in the orange trans am back then… you can’t get much more 70s than that.
Anyway, here is a nice quality Janis Ian performance. I went to see her at McCabes in the early 90s and was blown away at her performance. If you have only heard “at seventeen”, I encourage you to dig deeper- she has so many great songs.

Janis Ian- Coach House, San Juan Capistrano Ca 6/28/95 xfer from DAT Master Coresound Mics

So I had jokingly mentioned that I typically post content that does not get many views on Monday, so I could call it “Mediocre Monday” where I post not-so-great or obscure recordings. I think I’ll do Mediocre Monday from here on out.
I had thought that this one turned out kinda lousy, but it sounded way better than I remembered… so much for Mediocre Monday today I suppose. My other 2 recordings sound much better though, and you can hear the between song dialog much better there. I’ll get those up one day.
If you are wondering why I am posting a Janis Ian show, it’s because I like her music a lot.
