Mother Hips- House of Blues, Hollywood Ca 6/7/96 Backstage interview and acoustic xfer from Hi8 Mast

Man, this is unbelievably cool. There is about a 35 minute interview with the band, and then a few acoustic songs with Tim and Greg (I think). Recorded by the legend, Steve Rogers. Thanks Steve!
PS: This tape is marked as House of Blues only, I am assuming that this is Hollywood since it was close to Steve at the time.

Big Star- House of Blues,Hollywood Ca 11/1/94 9pm Show xfer DAT Master Alex Chilton Posies Power Pop

I actually taped today’s On This Date in History. I had a ticket to the 9pm show of Big Star at House of Blues and they put on a good show. The typical set at the time. Then, at the end of the set, they announce that they didn’t sell many tickets to the midnight show, so we were welcome to stick around and see that show as well. I called my wife from outside the venue on a pay phone and let her know that I was going to be LATE. Super late! Work was not fun the next day, after about 3 or 4 hours sleep.

These were done with the coresound mics which pick up a ton of bass- even with the “bass rolloff” version of the mics. I tried to EQ as much bass out of the mix while boosting the highs and mids, then popped it into Izotope to bring up the guitar and vocals. Still bassy.
