Front Line- The Farm, San Francisco Ca 10/24/87 xfer from master cassette boombox recording Joe Sib

This was a crazy day that involved hitting 2 shows, breaking down in between the 2 of them, and missing some really great bands.
Anyway, here is the first band I recorded with my step dad’s montgomery ward boombox at Day on the Farm 1987. I still wonder what mics were in that thing, tapes sound great for a 1987 boombox recording. I am surprised that I took this into the farm- there was no security there and I was a scrawny kid. Must have felt brave that day. Mix gets better after about 5min.

Front Line- El Dorado Saloon, Sacramento 9/2/87 xfer from master cassette Joe Sib San Jose Punk Band

Here’s a relatively unknown band, but they played a ton of Clear and Distinct shows in the late 80s. Front Line was from San Jose and had Joe Sib on Vocals, prior to his bands 22 Jacks and Wax, and also prior to his co-founding of Side One Dummy. Adam Segal from The Faction was also close to the band, releasing their 1st EP on his IM records label and co-writing a song on the EP.
This is only 1 of 2 master recordings that survived the 80s from my collection. This one from anonymous, and one other that I did on the boom box in October of 87.
