The Temptations- Reflections EPK Rough Cut Viewing Copy 1/19/06 xfer f/Master VHS Dub

Here’s another fun one from Todd Nakamine’s collection. This appears to be a review copy of some interview clips and a performance for an EPK. Still has time codes and all.

BTW, I figured out why the new ATI thing made everything sound terrible- the levels are defaulted too high out of the box and it causes transfers to distort. You need to hack the registry and adjust volume input from there. Crazy, but I am grateful for digitalfaq and Nicholas Serra for the help and knowledge.

Grandaddy- EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for Sumday 2003 xfer from VHS Master

Out of all of Eddie’s collection, this was the one that I have been looking forward to the most. Grandaddy is one of my all-time favorite bands, and I blew it and was late to the party (2003), and missed them when they were a local band. I only got to see them live twice, in 2012 and 2017. I had tickets to the Gallo Center shows, then Kevin passed. 🙁 R.I.P.
Anyway, this EPK is amazing and hilarious. There is a cliffhanger ending where Jason FINALLY reveals his secret to songwriting… it’s a MUST WATCH.

The Beach Boys- Pet Sounds Session EPK 1997 xfer from master VHS tape Enhanced R.I.P. Brian Wilson

This is from Todd Nakamine’s collection. I thought this would be super common and online already but I don’t see it anywhere. The audio on this one is really odd. The interview clips are in one channel and the music is in the other. When I was prepping this, I thought that there was a problem with the transfer. Nope, this is clearly a raw one.

Beach Boys- Pet Sounds Sessions EPK Electronic Press Kit 1997 xfer from Capitol Records VHS tape

Video today, from Todd Nakamine’s collection. There are so many cool VHS tapes from his collection that come right from the record company’s archives. Tons of VH1 episodes coming as well.

This one has that odd music in one channel, dialog in the other thing happening. I pushed the levels as much as I could but the dialog is still a bit low. Turn it up.

Lots of really cool footage in this one.

The Beatles- Red and Blue EPK 11/8/93 xfer f/Capitol records VHS John Lennon Paul McCartney Ringo

Big thanks to Isabellaaskaan for letting me know that I had already posted Friday’s collections post previously- that Beach Boys’ EPK went up in June and I posted it again on Friday. Whoops, I forgot to check that apparently. Here is another EPK from Todd Nakamine’s collection that I know I have not personally posted yet and a search on YouTube doesn’t yield anything. These look like the usual promos with a red or blue border- nothing groundbreaking but good to document.
