Gene Chowder- Powerhouse Pub, Folsom Ca. 11/3/21 4K UHD Live w/ Misfits Ramones Frank Sinatra covers

Last night was the kickoff of Danny Reynoso’s annual F Cancer run of benefit shows. Here is Gene Chowder’s set from the show- this guy has an uncanny resemblance to Danny! Gene performs lounge-style versions of your favorite punk (and Sinatra) songs. Good times!
I wasn’t planning on going, but I had a 45 minute window in my day (school tour, then work, then soccer game, dinner/shower/bedtime for the kids) so I hauled ass, dirty and unshaven, to The Powerhouse and arrived right when Gene got on stage. What I am saying is, if I can make it to a show with that schedule, you most definitely can as well. Please support this and other local shows.

Danny Reynoso- Holy Diver, Sacramento Ca. 10/5/21 Solo set with The Knockoffs, Secretions Songs GH5S

First off, here is a PSA for you- you will want to either subscribe to the http://www.sacramentomusicarchive.com website email alerts list, or join the sacramento music archive facebook group. Just today, one of our friends posted a Misfits set from Aftershock this past weekend. You’re not going to hear about it on the 3 cameras and a microphone YT channel, so go check it out there!
So, what does this have to do with my good friend Danny? He opened for Bobby Steele’s (Misfits) band The Undead solo back in 2018. In fact, I think this show and the 2018 show may be the only ones he has done solo.
Fun set which includes choice covers and some songs from his bands. The biggest crowd reaction came during “3 Chords and a F*ck You” (Secretions), which was cool to see. Man, their popularity has endured.

Bat Guano Fest 2020 w/ Yoohoos, Sad Girlz Club, Cory Wiegert, Cassette Idols, The Knockoffs, Joe McKinney, Brianna Carmel, Justin Pine, Sarchasm, Matt Crap, Well Placed Whoas, The Left Hand, Mark of Defyance, Danny Reynoso, and Tim Williamson!

There are a few “can’t miss” music events in Sacramento each year–
The Punch and Pie fest which used to happen in August, Danny Reynoso’s “Fuck Cancer” event in November, and this one. The Bat Guano fest has been curated by Ken Doose for the past 10 years, and it looked like this year would be cancelled due to Covid. Thanks to some friendly goading from friends, it was changed to an online event and it worked out really well. It also allowed past Bat Guano bands such as The Yoohoos to perform from Germany. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a virtual post-show hangout via zoom! Miss these guys (and gals).
