Corrupted Morals- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 6/14/87 xfer from master VHS tape Enhanced East Bay Punk

Happy Friday! All of this Aftershock Fest video has thrown my workflow into complete chaos. Both RAIDs are full AND I have at least 2TB more on SD cards that still need to be transferred onto the RAID and processed. Couple that with this Till Lindemann show being a complete pain in the ass to process and you have chaos over here.
Let’s get back to some archival stuff for today. I hope to have Till ready tomorrow- it’s a must-watch! Priest, Maiden, Body Count and more are still sitting on the cards and will be done in a few days.. I hope.
Here is one from Chris Eng’s VHS master- Corrupted Morals from the legendary “Battle of the Bands” show in 1987. There is soundboard audio for these, so expect this to by synched with the board sometime in the future.

Enhanced in Adobe Premiere Elements/Neat Video (denoise- I think. I honestly don’t remember)

Corrupted Morals- 924 Gilman 6/14/87 xfer from VHS Master/1st g tape Angle 2? enhanced Easy Bay Punk

Life has me totally stressed out, so here is a bonus VIDEO post for you today! I was digitizing Chris Eng’s Lazy Cowgirls/Raunchettes tape, and there was 4 minutes of Corrupted Morals sandwiched in between some bands on this tape. It is not marked on the tape, but it seems to be from the “Battle of the Bands” show that took place the day after the Lazy Cowgirls show.
All footage that I recall seeing from that 6/14/87 show was from the elevated soundbooth, so this is a new angle to me. Cool!

It’s time for the Patreon voter’s choice post for the week before last. I was out of town in Las Vegas for a bit so thanks to my Patreon supporters for waiting until I got back. Another poll just ended a few minutes ago and you will be getting some Teenage Fanclub soon!

This is the very first show I ever videotaped or had videotaped for me. I booked/promoted this show but I was a year away from owning my first camera, so we begged Mick Brindle (Damon from Anal Babies’ dad) to come on out and video. The quality isn’t great but this is an awesome piece of history:

  • from what I can tell, this is the earliest Corrupted Morals video ever filmed. Chris Eng came in a close 2nd place with his 6/14/87 video from Gilman.
  • You can see a bunch of local legends in the crowd. I see Ground Chuck right before the show starts and in the pit along with Ken Doose.

There is soundboard audio for this show, but the cuts between some songs and the distortion of the camera audio track make this a manual job. Ugh.

This was a Patreon Voter’s choice a couple weeks back, but thanks to Omar M, you get it with actual listenable audio! Omar reached out and offered to help volunteer for the Archive. Thanks again, Omar! We might be seeing more awesome stuff assisted by Omar in the near future.
