Groovie Ghoulies- Concerts in the Park, Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sacramento 8/2/02 Sbd from Master DAT

Man, this is a great performance. The band’s parents were there along with just about the entire Sacramento punk scene, and you could tell that they were pumped. It sounds like they just returned from tour. This is one of the longest CIP sets I had ever heard.
The board mix was good to start, but I played around with it in Izotope and I like it even better now.
Features a Monkees cover- R.I.P. nez.
Jim, did you shoot video? I only have this DAT soundboard.

Groovie Ghoulies- Concerts in the Park,Plaza Park,Sacramento Ca 8/30/96 xfer f/DAT Master Soundboard

It’s Kepi day! Kepi has flown down from Portland for his only Sacramento show of the year. It’s at the Chalk it Up festival at Fremont Park. He goes on at NOON- that’s like an hour from now. So listen to this (or his acoustic live stream on facebook this morning), then head out and enjoy the show. the fest is FREE, but buy a shirt because he can’t fly back with them. Unfortunately, I won’t be there. Getting an X-ray on the fractured left wrist.

This was the first Concert in the Park I ever attended, 39 years ago. I was confused because the DAT is labeled as Plaza Park. Today I learned that Plaza Park was the name of Cesar Chavez plaza, before it was renamed!

It boggles my mind that I got there late (tape cuts in mid-song) and the recording is STILL 95 minutes long! The mix is pretty good, but it moves a bit so not a good candidate for a quick rebalance.
