Comeback Kid- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 3/14/25 4K UHD Multicam with Schoeps audio

I forgot to post video today and I need to head out asap, so I will make this quick. No board tape because the bands brought their own soundboard, so you get audience audio only for this one. Bummer.

Comeback Kid- Goldfield Trading Post, Roseville, CA 10/1/23 4K Multicam w/ Matrix Audio Hardcore CBK

Wow, this one came out great and the band (and the crowd) was on fire. People were climbing the poles (thankfully not the one with the camera on it) and diving off into the crowd.
Huge thanks to Tromster for the edit, and also to Tromster’s friend who did a blend of mics from each side of the stage. There was so much separation in the club, my schoeps only picked up the guitar player on the right and the Rode got the left guitar. Sounds great, and it would have sounded odd otherwise. thanks!

Comeback Kid- Cornerstone, Berkeley Ca. 10/17/18 Multicam with Rode Mic Audio

Out of all of the hardcore bands that my friend Agelos asks me to film, CBK are by far my favorite. Hardcore intensity with a metal edge and “melodic screaming” for lead and backup vocals. Good band, and bonus points on the lead vocalist’s Razor shirt- representing their Canadian home! I bought Evil Invaders when it came out in the 80s.

Man, the traffic between Sacramento and the Bay Area keeps getting worse. It took about 3 hours to get to the show, so I arrived too late to try for a soundboard patch. That’s a bummer, because the board tapes sound amazing. I did learn a few things from the first time I filmed here- tripods in the balcony DO NOT work- there is way too much vibration up there. These angles are pole mounted and much better. I also repositioned the gopro to show half band, half crowd. MUCH better. The food is decent at cornerstone and the beer selection is excellent- the best of any venue I have ever seen. Parking sucks, but it is worth a visit. Filmed with 2 Canon HFG30’s (1 pole mount, 1 monopod operated by me), 1 HFG10(pole mount) and 1 gopro side stage. Enjoy!
