Last American Heroes- Club Lingerie, Hollywood Ca. 3/1/93? xfer from Band’s VHS Master Tape

Here is another gem from Robert Kuhlmann. Man, I wish I knew where “Video Bob” was so we could perform lossless transfers on all of these Club Lingerie multicams that he did in the early 90s. If anyone has any leads, let me know…
Longtime bandmates Bob Kuhlmann and George Schneller moved to Los Angeles from their native St. Louis in 1985. Originally calling themselves the Orchids, they showcased their songs on stages throughout Southern California for nearly a decade while changing their name to the Last American Heroes along the way.

Last American Heroes:

Ed Domer – drums
Jeff Harris – guitar
Bob Kuhlmann – guitar, vocals
George Schneller – bass, vocals

Ride- Club Lingerie, Los Angeles Ca 4/13/91 xfer f/1st gen VHS tape Andy Bell Mark Gardener

It’s a BONUS post for you on this fine Monday. This was last week’s Patreon voter’s choice. I really thought that the Old 97s video was going to win it, but Ride came out on top. This week, we are voting for an uncirculated Cattle Club show. Yep, there are still more recordings from Cattle to post. Sign up to Patreon- link below. It’s fun, it’s tax deductibe, and it’s the time of year to scramble for deductions!

This one wasn’t as bad as I remembered. I recalled it being super dark and the audio being distorted beyond listenability. It’s actually pretty well lit- only the drummer is dark. The audio only distorts badly when the vocals are peaked. So, not terrible.

The Muffs- Club Lingerie, Hollywood Ca 2/16/91 semi pro multicam Kim Shattuck Garage Punk

Big thanks to Alan Bruce for asking me to dig this one out of the VHS piles. It had 2 Muffs shows on the tape and neither seem to be out there. I could have sworn that this one was on Youtube but I searched a few different ways, even on different devices and nope.

This is one of the band’s first shows. Their first was in January of 1991. There are a few multi camera shows from Club Lingerie from the early 1990s, done by a person named Video Bob. If anyone knows who video Bob is or how he can be contacted now, please let me know.

The Muffs- Club Lingerie, Hollywood Ca 2/16/91 semi pro multicam Kim Shattuck w/better audio

I know I just posted this a couple weeks back, but I figured out how to improve the audio on this new capture setup. I will go ahead and hide the old post- enjoy!

Here are my ramblings from the original post:

Go,Dog.Go!- Club Lingerie, Los Angeles Ca. 1991 Multicamera xfer from VHS Master

From Paul: Of all the clubs in LA we played, our weakest draw was at Club Lingerie on the Sunset strip. Naturally it was the only club that offered an in house recording of the show you performed, for more than nominal fee and it was delivered in almost lifelike VHS (the industry standard in 1991. The Audio was recorded directly from the board, hence the low guitar level. I did what I could to liven the sound quality.Club Linerie closed its doors in April 1995.
