Citizen Fish- Fireside Bowl, Chicago Il 4/14/94 xfer from 1st gen VHS tape punk ska dick lucas

For today’s On This Date in History, we have a video from Citizen Fish. I think this might be a Byrne Brothers production, not sure. I picked it because I am seeing Dick Lucas perform in person for the first time ever this coming Friday. That’s right, I am super lame and have never seen any of Dick’s bands. I even have a DAT Master soundboard of CF from El Dorado Saloon that someone taped for me with my DAT deck.

Citizen Fish- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca 4/24/92 xfer from master soundboard tape Punk Ska Subhumans

I got pretty busy with work and stuff today and I realized about 10min ago that I have no post ready. Whenever that happens, I go to the trusty pile of Radley stuff and find something cool I think you’ll like.
Man, this mix sounds amazing. Having the bass up in the mix is just perfect for ska.

Citizen Fish- 924 Gilman 12/6/91 xfer f/Master Soundboard/Aud matix Cassette Dick Lucas Subhumans

Audio collections post from Radley Hirsch’s awesome trove of board and studio tapes. This one sounds a lot like some of the other sbd/audeince mixes he did in the early 90s- pretty decent.
A partial version of this is online, but this one sounds cleaner since it is right off Radley’s tape, and this one is the full show. 75 Min is one of the longest sets I think I have ever heard of at Gilman. I got to see a 75min Victims Family set there in 1989, and Naked Raygun played 80min in 91. I can’t recall anything longer.
Oh, one last thing. I am solo dad for my 2 kids for the next 10 days. They go to 2 different schools- one in Orangevale and 1 in Sacramento. One plays soccer for her High School in Sac, one plays in Folsom. So I am going to be very busy and you might see more than one post at 9pm.
