Here’s a rare one- the only video I have ever seen come out of the skatepark-turned-venue called The Grind. Thanks to Archie Morse for putting up 7 minutes of the set. The full show exists, so hopefully we’ll see that soon. We can help with the blurring and enhancing of this video!
I did not have time to remix this one, so it will sound a bit raw. Turn up the bass on your stereo a little, haha. I took my step son to this show. He was 11 year old and weighed about 80lbs. When Green Day and Beastie Boys played, the crowd went apeshit and we were crushed/blocked in with a bunch of other people. We would pick our feet up and move 10-15ft at a time. It was both fun and terrifying. You will hear that the recording suffers a bit from the chaos & me yelling to my stepson(safety was a priority at that point) , but I like it anyway.

I don’t think I have shared this but I am digitizing ALL of Todd Nakamine’s VHS tapes. Even stuff like Welcome Back Kotter and Soap.. every. single. one. That was part of the deal to get all of this great stuff. Anyway, there was a tape in there labeled “Beastie Boys Vegas” and I do a quick google search and see that they played a set in 2004 for MTV and the $2 bill show, so I figured that’s what it was… and then I hit play. If the Las Vegas label is right, this seems to be a not-on-youtube video of their LV stop on the Lollapalooza 94 tour. Hot damn!
The camerawork is comically bad to start but it settles down. Fans will enjoy this one I think.
