Hobo Gobbelins- Battle of the bands, SF? xfer from master audio cassette folk punk 2005?

More stuff from James R Edmonds- here is his band, the Hobo Gobbelins. He doesn’t remember the exact date or location of the show, and a google search didn’t give many clues either. The closest possibility was a show up here at Camp Pollack, but there was no inkwells on that bill. Hm.

Inkwells and Blackbird Raum- Battle of the Bands, SF? 2005ish Folk Punk xfer from master cassette

And, here is the flip side of yesterday’s cassette. I had trouble finding the set change between the bands, so I am including them in one 47min lump.
I recall Blackbird Raum having some fans, so I hope some of you will enjoy this one.

Sewer Trout- Battle of the Bands, 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 6/14/87 xfer from master VHS tape

It’s hard to believe that it has been 4 weeks since one of Chris Eng’s videos has been posted. Even with this 2-a-day business, it still doesn’t seem to be fast enough. People were asking for this set so here ya go. It’s really cool to see fans singing along with the songs in the front. Sewer Trout had some serious fans. They were somewhat famously brought back into the public view during Billie Joe Armstrong’s RRHOF Speech.

Operation Ivy- 924 Gilman,Berkeley Ca 6/14/87 xfer f/master VHS tape Enhanced Rancid Battle of Bands

It’s finally time for another one from Chris Eng’s collection of VHS tapes, and it’s a good one! This one cleaned up nicely- I hope I didn’t overdo the denoise. It’s a fine balance to remove the grain while keeping the detail without getting that “iphone beauty selfie” look.
This is the second to last band that I have on tap from this date. Once we find the best versions of the soundboard tapes, it will be time to digitze those and synch them up.
