Attitude Adjustment- Ruthie’s Inn, Berkeley Ca. 6/6/86 Soundboard Audio Hardcore

I tried to post this yesterday since it was 30 years to the day… So this is one of those tapes that got me totally hooked on taping and tape trading. It sounds kinda awful at the beginning, but it is more listenable about midway through. AA only had their demo out and they played a headlining set at Ruthie’s. They ended up playing the longest set I am aware of, for this era of AA. Crazy between song banter with Andy and the crowd. It sounds like the band has a fight around “Streetwise”, 2/3 of the way through. I listened to this tape so much, I broke it and had to ask for another copy from Mark. I think Wayne Vanderkuil might have taped this one. Man, I wish he would loan me his stuff so I could transfer it.

Attitude Adjustment- New Method Warehouse, Emeryville Ca 5/25/86 xfer from master audio cassette

Another Wayne Vanderkuil master tape of Attitude Adjustment. Probably my favorite bay area band from the 1980s. Thanks to Jim Pitts and others who helped me narrow down the location of the old warehouse on Google Maps- look at that building! This is during the era where the band was playing hour-long sets with just about every song they had. Love it.
Rick’s chunky bass tone is up front in the mix. Sounds good.

Attitude Adjustment- New Method, Emeryville Ca 3/21/86 xfer from master audio cassette

This is an example of how listenable one of these old 80s recordings can be, as long as it doesn’t get too loud. This one is pretty decent! Once again, from the collection of Wayne Vanderkuil. Thanks Wayne!
The flyer shows that the show was put on by New Method, but took place at Own’s Pizza. The cassette shows that it took place at New Method. I checked with Wayne and he remembers this show happening at New Method, so that’s what I am going with.
I love the part where Andy announces that they are doing an Exodus song and the band just jumps right into it for about 2 seconds.

Attitude Adjustment- Ruthie’s Inn, Berkeley Ca 2/7/86 xfer f/ master cassette R.I.P. Chris Scaparro

Today’s planned video post is cancelled. While I was at the Oakland A’s game yesterday, I heard the awful news that Chris Scaparro passed away. He had posted about tongue cancer just 4 weeks ago- I can’t believe cancer took him so quickly. Such a shock.
I got to know Chris while promoting 2 Condemned Attitude shows in Sacramento in early 1987. From there, I became the Sacramento support “hub” of the band, copying and stocking demo tapes to sell at Dimple, and sending the band money and supplies. Chris was pretty soft spoken, I knew Andy and Rick the best, but Chris was always super cool to me.
It was fun interacting with him online- I have been posting a lot of AA stuff from Wayne Vanderkuil’s (and my) collection and he would comment from time to time… you could tell he was proud of what AA/CA/Attitude accomplished.

Attitude Adjustment- Rock on Broadway, San Francisco Ca 1/25/86 xfer from master audio cassette

Early post today. Yet another Attitude Adjustment show- so glad Wayne was able to document all of these shows before I even knew who the band was. I got clued in about mid-1986 and was a huge fan ever since, even bringing Condemned Attitude to Sacramento twice in 1987.
This recording is pretty listenable for a ROB tape- that venue had some rough acoustics.

Attitude Adjustment- New Method, Emeryville Ca 11/2/85 full show xfer from master cassette tape

OK, I lied about it being Ruthie’s week. I thought this tape was from Ruthie’s, but it is from the next day at New Method. Man, look at those killer lineups at that punk house. Yet another one taped by Wayne Vanderkuil, and another one that sounds pretty good for the time and equipment used. No shortage of Ruthie’s stuff to post in the future though, so stay tuned.
This must have been one of Kevin Reed’s last shows with the band before Andy joined.

Attitude Adjustment- Ruthie’s Inn, Berkeley Ca 10/26/85 xfer from master cassette

One more Wayne Vanderkuil creation this week- then KALX audio tomorrow and 4 videos for the long weekend.
This one has been confirmed to really be a master recording – he knew about them from pretty much day 1 and he was there for so many of their shows. Thanks so much Wayne.
I have not found the CJ/NM sets in the box yet. I’ll keep digging….

Attitude Adjustment- New Method Warehouse, Emeryville Ca 10/19/85 xfer from master cassette

Mediocre Monday, y’all. Here is a super early Attitude Adjustment show from the archive of Wayne VanDerKuil. I could not find a flyer for this one, so I put a google maps image of where I think the New Method was. Ah, look at that gentrification today!
I am pretty sure that this is with an early vocalist of AA- maybe Nick Koljian or Kevin Reed. I know that it isn’t Andy because the vocalist keeps quiet between songs. Haha, just kidding you Andy.
Anyway, recording is a bit rough but listenable for hardcore fans. Another thanks to Wayne for loaning me the tapes, just getting started.

Attitude Adjustment- Rehearsal 1985 xfer from unknown gen audio cassette hardcore

What a chaotic day- here’s a short one for you. This was on the same tape as the Suicidal that I posted yesterday and it sounds different than the other 4 track rehearsal tape I posted a while back, and it is shorter. Hopefully Eric McIntire will have more context about the session.
