Strife- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 3/9/19 7 Camera Multicam Live Hardcore Rode Videomic Pro Stereo

Strife headlined the “Mutiny on the Bay” hardcore fest at Gilman last month. It was surprisingly not jam packed in the room, so I was able to set up some extra cameras that I don’t usually use during the big hardcore shows. Plus, I met Sunny Singh at the show (from hate5six.com) and he was kind enough to lend his footage to this multicam.
That means that you have SEVEN cameras picking up the action!

City Mouse- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Multicam with Matrix Audio

City Mouse came through in February and played Femfest at Gilman. They had some new band members since the last time I saw them in 2018… including Jen Louie from Hammerbombs!

Huge thanks to Charlie Passarell & Liam Dennis(and maybe others) for the help with editing. They reached out to me to help get these videos done. More to come.

Also thanks to Anonymous for doing the soundboard/audience matrix. Soundboard via USB drive & Audience with the Rode on the balcony cam.

Sarchasm- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Canon HFG40 Rode Videomic Pro Stereo East Bay Punk

Here is the next in the “one angle from my backlog of unedited multicams” series. Since 924 Gilman announced their closure today due to Coronavirus, I thought I would post a new to youtube video from there.
I really think these guys (and maybe get married) are the cream of the crop of the new generation of Gilman bands. Catchy songs, everyone sings, just great stuff.
They have stuff out on Asian Man. Check it out.

Pity Party- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Live East Bay Punk Single Camera Version Canon HFG40

Here is another show that I shot multicamera and may edit one day. Pity Party are one of the more popular of the new wave of Gilman bands. They did a big tour last year and it looks like they just had to cancel an Australian tour because of the pandemic. What a bummer. It looks like they are selling an Australian tour shirt on their fb site to recoup losses.

Pity Party- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Multicam with enhanced Soundboard Audio East Bay Punk

We are STILL working through the backlog of multicam footage that I shot over the years. I realized that we had never posted a multicam of Pity Party, and a quick check of youtube has NO Pity Party live multicams.
Here they are as part of Femfest 2019. I think this was the last show before their US tour? I lost one angle in the middle of the set unfortunately. I rebalanced the audio to sound good for MOST of the show. The mix fluctuated a bit, so the guitar will be low for the first part, then in comes in nicely about halfway through. Oh well, best I could do.

Sol Drop- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Single Camera Version Live Punk HFG40 Rode Videomic

Last year’s Ladyfest at Gilman had a ton of great bands. I went to see City Mouse, Dog Party, Sarchasm and Pity Party.. but I also saw Deseos Primitivos(Great band) and Sol Drop from Flagstaff, Arizona.
Here is that Sol Drop set. I only got a portion of Deseos Primitivos, I will probably post that one tomorrow.

Dog Party- 924 Gilman, Berkeley Ca. 2/23/19 Multicam with soundboard audio

I’ve seen Dog Party a bunch, but this was the first multicamera I did of them. I had 5 cameras set up (kind of overkill for 2 people in the band), but 1 of the gopros did not work out well. So this turned out to be a 4 camera shoot and I think it turned out nice.
We also had to do a couple of things with the audio- first, the soundboard cuts in at about 3:20 of the show, so you get audio from one of the Rode mics until then. I also enhanced/rebalanced the mix on the board tape. Hope you find it enjoyable- the audio took forever to fix.
