I had grand plans of posting this one on 4/20, and a built to spill show on 4/26, but then I got busy and these got buried. Here is Desario’s opening set from the Foals show at Ace of Spades from 8 years back. I believe that this was Jim Rivas’ last show with the band.
I rebalanced the mix, but I left the first 2 songs as-is since the mix was still moving all over the place- it was clear the band didn’t have a soundcheck! It sounds really good (in my opinion) about 10min in

Quick collections post today, this one from Josh Parten’s collection. I never knew this was a Big Jay show until I searched for the flyer. He put on some great shows. The worst thing about losing my old facebook account was losing chats with Jay, Richard Brown, and many others who have passed. Josh Parten is one of many friends who left too soon. R.I.P.

Like all of Josh’s videos, the audio on this is pretty distorted, but if you are a fan you should be able to tolerate it.

Here’s another FS show from Jordan’s archive. If anyone recognizes this venue, please let me know. PS: That thumbnail is not representative of the video. I can’t make it change.

Alright. After working up not one but TWO different On This Days only to find out that they had already been posted, I think I can feel confident that this one isn’t out there. Where did I get this? Maybe Scotty Slam or Eric Acevedo. The text on the label of the disc is unfamiliar to me. It’s definitely an unknown source, unknown lineage deal.
The quality isn’t perfect- it has definitely been dubbed a couple times. But CT at the Santa Maria fair, at the fair’s first documented live concert ever? Sure. Sounds pretty good.

It’s Robert Eggplant on a Monday again. This tape did not have much info- it just said “Bobby Joe Ebola Rumah Geekfest”. That set off a search for a Geek Fest flyer or listing with both bands on it, but there is nothing online. Since it’s a board tape, I think it is at Gilman, but possibly not.
If you were not aware, BJE&TCM are back and creating a new album! They had a successful kickstarter campaign and are pressing up vinyl. The campaign is closed, but I would follow their bandcamp for news on the release.
